What does the research say?

When physically active lessons were added into the curriculum they had positive impact on both physical activity and educational outcomes (Norris et.al, 2020).

Children who completed Children’s health activity motor program had significantly improved ball skills compared to those who had free play (Robinson et.al, 2017).

Having competent ball skills in early childhood is a predictor of physical activity during adolescence (Robinson et.al, 2017)

Incorporating movement into the classroom can support students to maintain concentration and attention, regulate energy levels and expand their toolkit of self-regulation strategies which in turn allows for greater academic outcomes (Martin et.al, 2017)
